Chelsea Kancilia is a 5th generation Colorado Native. She grew up in Denver, Colorado. Chelsea attended Gonzaga University and received a bachelor’s degree in political science. She attended law school at Seattle University School of Law graduating cum laude.
After law school, Chelsea was a prosecutor in Austin, Texas at the Travis County Attorney’s Office Family Violence Unit. First, she was in the Intake Unit filing cases, then moved the trial court division taking misdemeanor family violence cases to trial and finally was in the protective order division litigating civil protective orders on behalf of victims of sexual abuse, stalking and domestic violence.
In March of 2018, Chelsea returned home to Colorado and was a Deputy District Attorney in the 1st Judicial District. She handled a variety of cases starting with misdemeanor and traffic cases, moving to juvenile misdemeanor and felony cases, and finally handling adult felony cases. She was first chair in over twenty-five jury trials.
Chelsea has moved into private practice with the firm of Timlin & Rye to continue to provide the dedication, passion and commitment to her clients as she showed as a deputy district attorney.
Chelsea will continue to excel at criminal defense and bring her knowledge of the Court system and her skills to each and every client navigate the difficult legal system. Chelsea will work diligently for every client to obtain the best result possible.
Chelsea will also be expanding her practice to include representing parents and children in the dependency and Neglect area.
In her free time, Chelsea enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs.
